Jim Calhoun, Nate Miles: Calhoun's Bad Hunch On Risky Miles

From the bad-timing department: The only good news for UConn in these allegations of recruiting violations is that Nate Miles never played for Coach Jim Calhoun. So, there are no 2008-09 games to forfeit.

Best bet here is for UConn to come clean -- admit where, and if, it messed up; note that it previously had a clean record with the NCAA and take whatever medicine is coming.

Nate Miles was a high-risk kid with a checkered past. UConn and everyone else knew that coming in.

Bottom line: Miles wasn't worth the effort UConn and Calhoun put into recruiting him. Had he played for the Huskies this year, it would have ruined what could still turn out to be a championship season.
